Only with the auto, or both trannys if you primarily use your Jeep on the trail; from my experience that combo with the 35's under a stick are too much for regular street use.

You're looking at right around $1300 for the gears and install. Mine's in the shop right now getting them done. And if you never really take it out of the city or do much more than go between NY and NJ you might be ok. I found for city driving and most highway driving my 4.10s were ok, but going up steep inclines, trying to keep it in OD (I'm in an auto) was next to impossible, so that convinced me to get the gear swap done.

You might want to head into the East Coast section and ask about good shops in NJ as I think a few have been mentioned there before.

Do you train at Renzo's school in NYC? Sorry for the off topic question, had to ask. lol

Colin W is right about the stick would be OK if you stayed in the range of 4.10-4.88 gears. He is also right about staying mainly on the highway or a DD without the 5.13. At the price your spending on the gear change though I think you will be happy with the ability of the 5.13's . When you get your 37's (and you will get 37's after you spent this money for gears $1,300-1,500 per axle) You will be very happy that you did it right and once for the money.

Note: I still have 33's and an auto with 4.10 so I don't need gears currently. Next set for me 35's and 5.13 gears. You might want to ask someone that has a signature with the setup you have-want and pm them.

I have 37s and manual transmission with stock Rubicon gears and find it to be fine on the street and in the sand. A bit slugish but not much worse than stock. I'll see in two weeks in the rocks. Central NJ is flat and at sea level so its not like we're dealing with the Colorado mountains.

Get it done at OK4WD (]ww w.ok4wd.com[/url]) or Krazy House Customs (ww w.krazyhousecustoms.com). Both are big major shops. The second is much closer. It is new and hungry for work. Historically I think they did more pickup trucks and trying to enter more into Jeeps. I got all work on my Jeeps done at OK4WD for the past five years. They do a lot of Jeeps but are a bit of a drive.

If your looking for a friendly local club, check out w ww.njjeep.org.

JerseyJeepncustoms.com in Turnersville NJ, well worth the ride. Troy and Vince are unbelieveable, very cool and explains everything and stands by their work. Didnt charge me over their cost for dealer ordered parts.
