Default gears and carrier question

In the next few month I am going to regear my jk. It has the factory 3.21 gears in it (boo) and I'm wanting to go with 5.13. I have read and understand that the carrier for the front dana 30 will need to be caged to except the bigger ring gear. That i understand. But what about the planetary gears will I need new ones for the bigger carrier, and also the front axle has an auto locker in it right now will it be trash.. I also plan to put sleeves in to help out, But with 35 and a dana 30 should i just put the planetary gears back in or keep the locker if I can. Thanks for the help. Also the rear is a dana 44 (with 3.21 obviously ) will that carrier need to be replaced also??

Yes both carriers, do a locker too. Good luck

Which locker is in the front housing? I assume it is a lunchbox type locker (aussie) that will go in the open carrier? If it is a full case locker (detroit), it is the carrier. Either way you will need a new carrier -or- a new full case locker. By planetary gears, you mean the spiders? I think they are the same regardless of carrier/ratio (assuming an open carrier). But, you have a locker. Weren't the spiders replaced by that locker?

The rear carrier is the same for all JK gear ratio's. (while the axle is torn apart for gears is a good time to go ahead and install traction, so you might at least consider a few options)

Locker or no locker - personal preference/judgement call/luck/flip a coin...

A pair of truetracs is a relatively popular route, and very cost effective when compared to some of the other options. Worth looking at, at least.

You can reinstall your auto locker into your new front carrier. The ID of carriers are the same, no matter the gear ratio.

You will need the carrier for sure for the front. The spiders/side gears if you don't put an Aussie locker in. The rear does not change as both the Rubicon and Non-Rubicon use the same thick ring gear.
