Default Gears or Supercharger

I’m trying to decide between gears or a RIPP Supercharger. I can only do one of these mods as my budget is only so big (I would like both, not going to happen). My biggest problems occur on the highway when I drive to and from trails located in the Rocky mountains. I have a hard time keeping up with traffic (maintaining speed) and my transmission is always shifting. I will most likely stick with my 33inch KM2 tires. What would you guys do?? Will the 100hp from the RIPP cure my shifting problems or will I still need gears? If I go the gearing route I will go with 5.13’s, which should match up well with my 33’s.

2010 JKU Rubicon Auto – 33inch KM2’s – 4.10 gears

Supercharger!! Way cooler and I've heard nothing but good things about ripp. I'm sure it will give you what your looking for and more. If you go the gear route I want to say 5.13's are too much if your just going to run 33's. 4.88's would be a better match. IMO

I would get gears first and then save up for the supercharger. I could be wrong, but I imagine that if you didn't regear first, that the supercharger would just have to work harder than it needs to?

BFG KM2 285-70-17 - [B]Dreamin of 35's
Staying with 33's - get the S/C first
Moving to 35's - get the gears first

With bigger tires, Ripp suggests gearing first also.

I believe the base ripp kit is just under $4000. Gears would def be a cheaper alternative.. I plan to regear to 4.88's, slap some 35's on, then supercharge down the road a bit when I have the $$.

My opinion on the issue:

If better performance is needed because of increased tire size and weight, re-gear first. You may find a supercharger isn't necessary.
If you still feel the need for better performance, then the supercharger would be appropriate.
And having re-geared first, less boost would be required, which would be a lot better for the engine.

I thought I would try 33’s & 5.13 and see how it performs. According to the Auto Gearing Chart 33’s & 5.13 are within reason. If it sucks all the more reason to get some 34’s or 35’s…
