The Sahara 18" wheel/tire package from the factory is HEAVY. Like, almost 75 lbs. per corner heavy. And, they are 32" tires.
So, simply moving to a 33" from this combo. would not really affect mileage and/or power that much since he's already running a heavy package.
It's different for the Sport guys who are going from 29" tires to 33" tires, and from a 52 lb. package to a 80 lb. package. But for a Sahara guy, you're miserable when it leaves the assembly line so you really have nothing to lose.
Moral of the story... you might be happy without gears OR a tuner. Just drive it for a while and see what you think.

Yes the bigger the wheels the heavier total weight. If you do a "c" rated tire and aluminum 15\16 wheel there won't be a huge weight penalty. My 33x12R15 tires and wheels weigh 71 lbs.

I just got the superchip and it helped me with my gas mileage but I just have the moab take offs. For 250-300 depending if you get it used or not. I would definitely go that route before dropping a good 1000-1500 on gears. Plus if you go the other route many people on here would take the superchip off your hands.

get the tires first and see how it does. you only want to regear once, and 4.88's will give you too many revs with 33's to make a difference in your mileage.
