I just installed the GenRight aluminum tire carrier this past weekend and am very happy with it. The install was pretty simple, and the carrier is stout and attractive. It opens very easily, and my girlfriend can easily work the closure pins without issue. I like that it is about 20lbs. The carrier is very well constructed - the welds were beautiful.

I looked at the AEV, as well as the Expedition One carriers. One of my decision points was the weight of this carrier, as well as being able to easily add pretty much any light weight bumper in the future without having to cut it up (for the AEV). However, I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
