Type of terrain is mainly deep mud and sand.

What drawback are we looking at with directional tires ? I assume if I get stuck, it's going to be harder to go backwards than forward. Is there anything else ? My trail buddies run Bogger and super swampers.
From what I understand, directional in the sense that they can't be rotated the ideal way. Right side tires have to stay on the right and left side tires have to stay on the left. Which means once mounted to your spare, it would have to be rotated in on whichever side it is set up for.
That is my novice knowledge.

Since it's a trail only tire, I'll be only buying 4, I will keep my regular spare tire. For rotation, I don't mind switching from back to front only and not side to side. Anything else ?
Quiet on the street except for a rumble at slow speeds, lightweight for their size, great in the rain/ice/snow, may not be the "best" tire out there for mud but the large lugs and gaps will clean themselves well and have always held their own for me. Cant beat the price---38x13.50s are only $320 apiece! 4 of my last 6 tires have only needed 1 oz of weight to balance---on a 38" tire! This is the second vehicle i've run these on, in varying sizes, and i keep comin back to them---love em!
