Hey folks,

I am very close to pulling the trigger on a truck 5.7 for the wrangler. I am pretty well set on using a 6 spd Getrag 238 for the swap. I understand the some of the issues and limited availability of the tranny.

Anyone have any input positive or negative about this tranny (first hand)?

How about the exact source year and model donor? (4x4 version or 2wd?)

I ran the bag off a Getrag 5 speed in my 5.7 Chev C1500. Out of 35-40 vehicles it was by far one of the nicest gearboxes I drove. Mine was still going strong when I sold the truck at 155K.
