Default Getting new wheels

Hey all. Wanted to get some opinions and input on wheel sizes. I am getting new wheels in the next week or two and wanted to know what size is a good choice? Any ideas as to the best size for on road and off road?

Half of your tire diameter diameter is my rule when I go for tires so like say 40 inches you can get away with 20 inches. The more sidewall you have the more squishy and less responsive your steering will be. If this is your daily driver then I think I would want more response. But of course you want the smallest possible wheel and largest tire for offroading. It depends on you but to me half the diameter of your tire should be your wheel size. I have 32's and I run 17 inches because later I'll go for 35's and I don't feel like the need to air down any more when I air down with my 32's

Tire offerings seem to be best in a 17" rim. I like the look of 15"s but unless you run a bias ply tire you will feel very unstable over 50mph.

I am running 18's because i found cheap duratracs in stock that my tire guy wanted to move and they were an 18" rim size.

I'm running 35' tires on 15" MB Razors. So far I'm very happy with my choice to go to a 15". The cost of tires it quite a bit cheaper and there are more options for tires since not all that far in the past a 15" was the norm. I have read that its not as responsive but I haven't noticed any handling issues. I have yet to test the theory out but with a 15" you should be less likely to break the bead when aired down compared to a larger rim....but I still wheel with a can of starter fluid just in case. All that aside, I just like the look of big rubber and with a larger rim the tire dosen't look quite as big
Here is a pic of what they look like

Had to add this, As I hit the submit button my 2yo son looked at the screen and pointed to the pic and said "Hello Jeep". That was the 1st time he has said Jeep. Feels good to know that the 1st auto model he knows of in his short life is a Jeep.

17s. Black wheels is the best investment I ever made. They look brand new after a year. And black really looks sharp.
