Getting ready to start
Hi everyone. My fiancee has had her JK for a little over a month now and has 1500 miles on it so it's time to start modding. It's a 2009 X with 6 spd manual in deep water blue. First we are going to get wheels and tires and then a lift. I'm planning on Procomp 7189 16x8 with 4.5" B.S. with 285/75/16 Kuhmo Road Venture M/T's. I wanted to make sure this wheel and tire combo will fit until we can get the lift which is going to be a 2.5" Teraflex Coil lift w/ shocks. It's not going to be offroad before the lift is installed, but she wants the wheels and tires now. I know this is a newbie question and I will get some "search" responses hahaha. I did search, but I'm getting ready to order the wheels right now so I wanted to make sure. Thanks in advance for your input.
Yes, the wheels are fine and the 4.5" backspacing is the commonality for many lifts amongst JKers. In regards to the tires, they'll fit a little snug without the lift but nothing that will interfere with anything -- wouldn't offroad without the lift or rubbing will occur.
Question:
Why not just purchase the lift now? It's worth it. I mean, no matter what whether it's now or in the future you're going to spend the money on it, so why not just buy it now so you can save your money for something you want in the future?
Convinced?
Oh, and welcome to the forum.

We will be getting the lift in a week or so, but we live in an apartment complex with no garage so the lift has to wait until I can take the Jeep back home to my parents house to use their garage. We are getting the wheels and tires now because the local shop I got my tires from for my truck is having a special on the Kuhmos and it expires in couple days.
