Default Gibson exhaust - single pipe

Yes i have installed the Gibson single-pipe stainless exhaust system found at Quadratec.
Here are my findings:
1.) It's loud, you may have read another posting I had on this.
2.) It definitely helps in the mid-low torque range
3.) It gives up a little horsepower in the top-end, but i don't miss it.

The Jeep is much more responsive to mid-range throttle and can hold a hill much better without excessive downshifting.
i can't say the fuel MPG has improved, but that might have something to do with the fact that i can't keep my foot out of it.

When I first took my buddy out for a test-drive in stock form- I said "It's got no b@lls". His response "That's not true...in stock form... It's got 1 b@ll = kinda like Hilter". Well now I'd say it's got 1.5 b@lls, and is almost acceptable.

The usable torque is probably only a 10-15% increase, but the throttle response improves as follows through the RPM range:
500-1250 Nothing useful was happening in stock form here - so it improves a little +15%.
1250-2500 Was a real dead spot in stock form, now it actually pulls +20%.
2500-3000 It was boring before and there is still this dead spot with the Gibson - but it's really brief -5%.
3000-4500 Off to the races +25% torque, and now you get to actually start using your available HP at about 3500.
4500-5500 Jeeps really don't belong this high in the revs unless mudding, this is where you gave up the horsepower to make your low-end torque. Torque is the same as stock, HP drops 5-10%.

Here is some background info on my rig: JKL Rubi, Auto, 4:10s with 32"s pretty much still stock except for JET stage 1 chip and now this Gibson single-piped exhaust.

I am beginging to get used to the louder exhaust. Wifey never did catch-on until she found the receipts. I just don't think a Jeep should sound like a WW2 Zero - and it does to me.

I hope this helps.

I wish I would have saved my money and just had straight pipes ran. It would sound the same.

Is it really that loud? That would piss me off! I don't want anything that loud either. Do you have the same single pipe Gibson or the new dual pipe version?

I have had the Gibson Dual flow installed for a week now.
It isn't all that loud during idle, however it is louder than I prefer while driving.
As far as performance and MPG no change really.
It looks good and has that beefy throaty noise but that's all I can say for now.
CAI nand chip are next.

I have the single exit one, had Gibsons on both the YJ and TJ with the good ol 4.o and they sounded great. I am still feeling out the sound for the new V6 though. It sounds pretty good low end but the mid-range has me still deciding...I guess coming from the 4.0s and my 4.7 V8 WJ it's probably not too much of a surprise that it's going to sound "different". Picked it up for cheap so if it doesn't work out I'm sure I can off load it and hopefully get my money back. Too early to figure mileage and performance since I just installed it with an Airaid so we'll see.

Default Gibson Exhaust Rear Split

I am using the Gibson Rear Split for about 2 months and the sound is very loud as mentioned, I didn't that much power when I installed it. When in idle the sound is smooth and nice but on 2000rpm it builds up very loud then drops back as you increase your rpm. It gave the JK a better aggressive look too.

I would like to ask if any of you have installed the Gibson Headers, and which kind shall I get the ceramic or stainless steel for high tempreature conditions? Or do you recomend something better than it?? I have and airaid Intake system and airaid spacer, also I am planning to use a performance chip. I am not happy or satisfied with the engine response it is very slow, I am looking for faster response and higher performance. So please can you advise me with it.

Well, I have settled my problem with my Gibson dual exhaust - and i am not the only one out there -

Gibson has been contacted by others -

Gibson says that if a CAI system is used with their system then there will be practically no gains in HP.

They have been working on the problem and they tell me that the thing that solves the problem is to add their headers -

That seem like a rediculous claim to me. I've never heard or experienced that before.
