I tend to over research everything and by the time I was done, Gobi was my choice. I got to see a few around town and get some hands on experience and I was totally swayed to the Gobi. I am waiting on mine to be delivered as we speak. If you are patient, I'll pose some good pics of the install and what not.

Also, there is a really cool install video on YouTube that was another major reason I went with the Gobi...

After looking at some cargo master pics, not liking it at all. Seems like it sticks out too much (space between hard/soft top and vertical tube bars). I run the trektop nx in the summer and the Gobi seems like it would follow the rear lines of the slant back better. I really like the Gobi rack. Guess I'll need to save some more clams before purchasing one. Might as well do it right the 1st time, right?

Good choice! Got mine from EAD. It took about 8 weeks to get it. The good news is they let me pay 1/2 and then called to get the other 1/2 before shipping. Worked out well for me!

Default Renegade Rack

If you're runnin a frameless top I would suggest the Renegade Rack from Warrior. We put an ORH Fastback top on our unlimited aka The Family Jeep, and we plan on getting this rack (once we get some spare cash saved) only because it hugs the rollbars and definitely compliments the slant back look of any fastback top.

That being said, I went gobi on my JK. It is truly one of the nicest racks I've ever seen or owned. Just took mine on 1,200 mile round trip at speed, 85mph, no rattles and surprisingly decent on wind noise.

What did it do to your gas mileage? I really want one, but would only really need it for trips and camping. Would be a waste of gas all the daily driving if it stole 2mpg+.

Congrats!

33" x 12.5" Duratracs on 15" x 8" MB72 wheels. I like 'em a lot!

That would have been the one, had they offered a 2dr version. Too bad, its a nice design.
Guess I'll save up for the Gobi.

I dropped 1mpg to 13. I expect to get that back when I regear; actually expect to gain back 2+ when I regear. 75+ I have to turn off o/d.

Sent from some string and a few tin cans.

Got it for Christmas. It was delivered end of January/first of February.

Looked up pictures of yours and they did change it. Uses four of the side bolts there. I wonder why the change? Using more bolts/support should be beefier. But still curious.
