Default Gobi Rack and AEV Corner Guards

Anyone with this setup:
1. Would it be easy to bolt the Gobi towers to the AEV Corners Guards?
2. Could you foresee this causing future problems, by having the Gobi towers attached to the frame AND the body/corner guards?

The gobi rack came with two little steel pieces that mimic the corner guards. I wouldnt use plastic corner guards but metal would be fine.

I've had my Gobi mounted wit Bushwacker plastic corners for 2 years without any issues. In fact, the guards have offered some scratch protection, even with the provided plates. I can only imagine the AEV corners being better.

Thanks skibovr and shakey.

Will probably try the AEV corners and Gobi, but bolt the rack into the corner panels
