Gobi Roof Rack
I am looking at purchasing the Gobi Roof Stealth roof rack. Anyone have any experience installing it? I am wondering how much time I should set aside to get it on?
Also looking for a place that can deliver it in 4 weeks or less..
thanks,
Joe

It is an easy install. The weight for the 4 door rack was too much for one person to do easily, but I used my hardtop lift in my garage to drop in on my jeep. Works great that way.
The only semi complicated part is the rear attachment. After you take off the rear bumper READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. The order of the install in the instructions at that point are critical. If you guess you will screw it up and be taking it apart to get it put back together in the correct order.
Also I got mine years ago and it was from Alpha Expedition. FYI they are a bay area company.

I purchased and installed a gobi stealth rack on my '13 a few weeks ago. I contacted Gobi directly and, since my order didn't have any custom aspects to it, they were able to manufacture and ship my order within ~3-4 weeks. Gobi customer service was great and they were a pleasure to work with.
As a previous post mentions, the only real challenging part was installing the rear support towers. If you read the instructions a few times and take you time, it should go smoothly... not rocket science. As an example, my '13 had some body putty on the passenger rear seam where the tower is installed that needed to be removed to properly install the tower. The online instructions did not cover this, but the instructions that came with the rack did. This comment may not make sense right now, but when you start installing the passenger rear tower, it may come into play. Just make sure no body putty is between the tower and the body.
For the time to install, it took me ~3-4 hrs, and it wasn't bad at all.

Just to add my 2 cents....
Agree Trail Duty is awesome to work with, great customer service! I was not in a rush for mine, thinking the 4-6 week time frame would work for me.
I ordered on May 30th, nothing custom, and my rack just shipped TODAY! You have to call Gobi, don't bother emailing them if you want a status update. Trail Duty was great in following up with them to see status, but Gobi does not always stick to what they say about things shipping out. They are probably just over whelmed with orders, from what I have read from others they have a somewhat unique and quality product.
I am looking forward to getting the rack, it's exactly what I need. All I am saying is plan ahead time wise, just in case.
Also I would absolutely order anything through Trail Duty, their customer service was top notch!

Hi all,
I want to put a Gobi on my 4dr JKU 10th Anniversary with the stock new steel bumpers. Anyone know if there are any install /compatibility issues with these bumpers and the rear pieces?

If that is the AEV bumper, you'll have to get an adapter bracket that runs around $150.
Actually just called AEV and they admitted that they did NOT have any part in any of the parts for the JKU Rubi 10A. They admitted that the "AEV" tire carrier designed for the JKU Rubi 10A bumpers is a chrysler product that they provided design input on. But yes, you're right abot the brackets.
Thanks.
