Default Gobi Stealth rack issues

Installed the rack on my 2012 JK 2dr soft top.
All great except for the deflector after Fing with for a week now, with it on it buffets the top so badly it is unbearable over 50 mph and is so bad I'm afraid it's damaging the soft top.
With the deflector off it's noisy all the time but at least it doesn't feel like the top is going to be ripped off.
I've adjusted (what little there is) until I've wore out the bs hex head bolts that came with it.
Even considered I've got the damn thing upside down but I don't think so....
Any thoughts from the brain trust are welcomed!!

The 2012s use a different fairing than my 2010, and I've read it's installation is critical. Give Gobi a call and they will walk you through it...they are very helpful. Also post some detail pics here and I'm sure other 2012 owners can help.

if you just bought it NEW, you should have the newest fairing. If you do, just make sure to bow the fairing out in the middle and pull the ends back slightly. The other trick is to adjust it in/out. Call GOBI and they will walk you through it. The newest designed fairing gets rid that buffeting that a few us have had.

Does Gobi even exist anymore?? I've been calling and emailing them for a week and no reply! I've only read good reviews until I installed mine and had a problem with noise . I googled it and apparently it's all too common with soft tops. My top sounds and looks like its going to rip off! I removed all but the front bar with the wind deflector and lights and still have the problem .
I expected some noise but the top banging around is ridiculous! There has to be some kind of fix other than pool noodles. Anyone has a solution please let me know.

Gobi's customer service is awful. I never heard back from them when I was looking to order a rack. I ordered mine through Alpha Expeditions and got super quick, excellent service. I just emailed Gobi a couple weeks ago asking if they knew if my rack would clear a Warn Elite rear bumper. About a week later I got a reply saying "Yes the Warn Rock Crawler bumper will fit." Thanks Gobi.

Awesome rack though love mine.

Phnman23,

Try cracking your front windows that should let the soft top deflate so you shouldnt need the pool noodles.
