Default Going Naked on the Front

Well, I had my first fender bender, not my fault, and no damage to my fender (woe to the Ford Focus that cut me off though!)

Anyway, the plastic is dented on the driver's front, and I'm considering going naked. My question is, how much of a hassle is it taking off the crush cans? Do they unbolt, or do I need to grind them off and then repaint the bumper?

That's just ducky.
I can't imagine what the gripe would be. What was the ducat for?

They are tacked on so you will need a sawzall or a grinder. The bumper looks pretty goof with just the metal frame underneath.

Got it. I'm figuring on bolting on a couple d-ring shackles in the tow hook mounts to it would cover anything I needed to do to get the cans off. I don't mind the appearance otherwise. In fact, I like it better than all that plastic.

Post a picture or two after you are done. I really dont think the bumper would look good without the plastic, but I am willing to look at pictures of your jeep like that. And who knows, I could be wrong.

Why not go stubby? Just cut the ends off. if you take your time and make nice cuts, it looks pretty good.

You can unbolt the whole thing from the frame horns rather easily. Then the plastic will come off the actual steel bumper with 2 bolts (14mm i think...cant quite remeber). The crash cans will have to be cut off, but you can then grind the base smooth, paint over the area and no one will be the wiser.......you could probably get another stock bumper for free or dirt cheap from someone on the forum to replace the plastic portion.
