Going Right down the road
Well my jeep pulls to the right ever so slightly and I figured id dip my toes into setting the toe-in following the writeup on here, should i go forth with this process or have it profesionally aligned? Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated also!
Really thats interesting, ive been looking into adj. control arms for a while and will eventually go the TF route for sure, but as far as setting the toe-in, is it easier than most make it to be? alignment was always something I thought should be left to the pros but on the jeeps it seems pretty easy as long as you have an understanding of what your doing.
Something that may be contributing to the poster's dilemma is the fact the road is crowned in the center for drainage. If you drive in Europe in "left side drive" countries, the opposite is true, your car will yearn to the left.
No disrespect, but adj. control arms as a remedy sounds a bit overkill given the poster's comments and mild lift. And of course he's still going to have to spend the money for a thrust alignment after he's done installing them.
Tamu, I just had a full thrust alignment done on my JK and I'm glad I had a professional do it rather than doing it per the write-up; toe, camber, trust angle, axle centering (thanks to a new trackbar) and steer ahead were all outside spec before, and my JK drives and tracks straight and true now.
My .02 worth only, YMMV

opdsgt, thanks for the input i also figured it was from the roads being slanted as well but that just makes it more annoying lol on flat roads i can let my hand off the wheel and itll still want to run to the right alittle, but I just found out my gf's dad will do an alignment for free at his shop in a few weeks i think i can last that long
If your future father-in-law (
) can do a full thrust alignment for you in a couple weeks, particularly for free, I wouldn't spend a dime on additional mods until that day.
I'm not a factory Chrysler engineer, but I have been a weekend wrencher for over twenty years (trucks and bikes mostly). Anytime you lift a vehicle, you risk moving out of spec on any number of alignment measurements. Again, my opinion only, but I think a methodical approach is best in these instances. It's all about making informed decisions.
I'd be interested to hear how things turn out for you. Report back post alignment!
