Default Going up with bigger tires!!

well getting my stuff done on thursday, here is what i got coming

1 3/4 inch daystar lift ( I was going with the teraflex bb but the install guy prefered the daystar and said it altough it is a 1 3/4 kit it ends up being 2.5 please tell me if he is wrong...)

16 inch eagle alloys model 185

295/75r16 nitto terra grapplers

What do you all think about that?

I have a stock x 6sp with the 255/75r17 package

Sounds like a nice build!

Honestly, I don't think the lift thing sounds right. I run the Teraflex, so I can't really say for sure how high the Daystar is-- but I know some folks have used Tera in front and Daystar in back to level out their rake and they clearly did that because the Daystar is shorter.

If this guy doesn't want to install the lift you wanted because he "prefers" another one, he shouldn't be touching your Jeep, IMHO.

I whole heartedly agree there! Did you get a reason why he likes the daystar so much?

I have the teraflex and love it! Great kit, easy install (Thanks WOL) and wheels great so far too.

yeah, i concur. if someone would have told me what lift they prefer to install...i would have told them to f#@$ off because it doesn't matter what they prefer.

you're probably not getting many responses on the daystar setup because i don't think as many people are running it as some of the other bb's. here's the best threads i could find for daystar:

The claim that the daystar is larger than advertised is false. I am running the Daystar right now and I measured the spacers. The front is a full 1 3/4" while the rear is just under. There is no way that this can give you any more lift than indicated. I would strongly urge you to seek out another shop because the information that they are providing you is clearly false.

yeah the more i think about it the more I want to go with the teraflex. He said the teraflex was good but just over priced and that the same affect could be obtained with a 1.75. gonna call him up tomorrow and tell him to order me the teraflex. I also think he just didn't want to order it, he had the daystar in stock.

oh yeah putting on a set of rancho rs9000 shocks as well

If that is true, it makes you wonder what else the shop doesnt know

This is why I cringe even thinking about anyone else touching my vehicles

they do good work, I just he was trying to get me into the least possible lift for 33's. I told him i didn't want anything around 3" due to drive shaft issues so i think that is where he was trying to go. But i like the look of a bigger lift with the 33's so the teraflex is what i am going to get.

I think those tires you mentioned are over 34 inches. They will look good with either lift.
