Default gonna get a budget boost

ok...i'm gonna pull the trigger and get a teraflex 2.5" BB..i read all the threads and reviews, asked a bunch of silly questions, but just cause i'm new and neurotic, here's my last: aside from the mechanics of bolting & unbolting is there anything else i need to do when done? how much can i screw up (aside from dropping my jeep offf the lift)..any beartraps i should worry about?
i'd like to install this myself.

i'm still on my P255/75R17 wranger tires..will i look silly with the lift on those tires & wheels? kinda like a muscle head with a big upper body and skinny chicken legs??

as always thanks for the input

A budget boost is a pretty straight forward install. Here is a write up if you haven't see it yet. TeraFlex 2.5" Budget Boost Lift Installation Write-Up
This is for TeraFlex, but most are the same or similar.

Sounds like you have done the research. Follow the instructions. The right tools, mechanical aptitude and common sense go a long way!

I just did my TF2.5 BB yesterday, and man it looks freakin' great! I also added Rugged Ridge 1.25" wheel spacers to help avoid rubbing, by suggestion from TeraFlex. It's actually pretty simple, and I dodn't even have spring compressors to do it with. The hardest part was getting the rear spacers to "pop" into place and fully seat. Couldn't do it by hand, even with three people and some white lithium grease. Once everything was reassembled, I put the Jeep on the ground and let the Jeep weight take care of seating the spacers.

The only problem I ran into was the rear trackbar bracket... doesn't seem to fit correctly. The bolt holes that would hold it to the stock mount seem 1/4" low. I didn't want to go drilling them out to fit, or grinding on anything, so I left the bracket off. I have several buddies who bought htheir kits last year and they don't even have brackets. I have a slight amount of axle shift to the passenger's side, but no ESP issues or anything when I was drving around yesterday. Awaiting word from TeraFlex about the bracket issue...

The key is to take your time, have a buddy or two around to help, and enjoy wrenching on your Jeep. When it's done, you'll be thrilled!

Good luck!

sometimes people hsve troubles with the tracking of their differentials after this install(front diff will shift 1/4 to 1/2 inch) and an adjustable track bar is needed to fix that. Most people don't have any troubles though

If you can try to get a driveway wrenching party together with some other members, post it in your "area", the more people the better .. hopefully someone near you has done it before and can help you out.
I think it might look alitte strange with the lift and stock 255's, but then again I think it doesn't look right with 255's without a lift. Do you plan on getting bigger tires sometime?

Installed the TF 2.5BB today. Same issue with the rear trackbar relocator bracket so I drilled out the bracket a little so it would fit. looks awesome and drives good. Minimal adjustment to re-center the steering wheel.

One question though, Why does the kit not have a relocator bracket for the front as well?
