I wish I could get a gear swap for that price . . . around here it would cost that much for someone to open the hood.

Default Gears

My jeep is currently at an offroad garage in Dover PA getting new gears installed. They quoted me $350 an axel just for labor. I bought all the parts through Northridge 4x4. You might want to call around to see what else is out there. $150 for a gear swap seems really low. Like the saying goes you get what you pay for.

That's a very good price, ask if they warranty their work in any way.

You pay for what you get, Just hope they will back there work. Sometimes it's worth the extra $200 to $300 dollars. If they do good work then I would have to say it's a great price. The shop here charged me $400 per axle, but this guy has been around for over 30 years and is well known in this area for his work .
Good Luck

The price is low enough, that unless he is your friend or he owes you a favor, I would check into the quality of the shop's work and the warranty they provide.

I'm getting mine done this summer at a shop in Temple, PA for $160 per axle. It's damn cheap and he knows his shit. Built a lot of Jeeps and that's what he specializes in.
