Default Good shocks

ok where I come from the best shocks are: Ohlins (not only they look the best, they also act the best!)
I found Ohlins shocks in road racing (cars and motorcycles) and offroad racing (motocross).
I know they are kind of expensive (the rear shock on my ZX10r was over $1500)

Do you guys know anyone who use them ? or similar other good brands (sachs, white power, mazorchi etc ...)

Note: iam not a rock crawler type of jeeper. Iam more into desert (baja, mojave etc..) and sand dunes fun .

My jeep? a sahara 2008 unlimitted , 4doors.

Yes Iam a rookie!

Cheers

Hehh, your reminding me of my dirt and street bike days with some of those names. Yeah the Jeep world is slightly different when it comes to shocks. Some of the better names out there and most common for your jeep when it comes to the aftermarket custom shock are Bilstein, Fox and King to name a few. All the major lift companies have their own brands now days also, most have really decent shocks. I've never seen anybody running an Ohlins or Marzocchi suspension setup on a Jeep.

Fabtek is another manufacturer that has come along way with their product, they have some really kick-ass shocks in their line-up.

Unless you plan on slapping a hemi or bigger engine in the jeep I doubt you'd go fast enough to make the jeep ride rough and require the better shocks you have mentioned. Think more monster truck not Baja buggies.

To really get the benefit of new shocks, you need springs with the proper rate to support what you are trying to accomplish.

From all the reading I've done on this, OME has put together a pretty good set of springs/shocks. Fabtek and Teraflex are the other names people throw out here.

Personally though, I've never heard of the high end shock companies putting together a spring/shock package for the JK (ie: works performance, PEP, FOX, Ohlins etc)

1250 Euro EACH!! Not sure what the exchange is right now, but I can tell you Holly Overkill Batman!!

It is like having the fork of my Gixxer on every wheel! In fact it is even more! Hell it makes Fox and King sound cheap! I love Ohlins don't get me wrong, but that is crazy!

I would recommend King shocks, or coilovers in this case. Off Road Evolution has some sick suspension setups for rock crawling and/or desert racing styles. Call them for prices, I have no clue how much I've spent on this Jeep. This setup work very well for what your looking for......
