Goodyear MTR 38s
Looking to get some input on the GY MTR 38x14.50x17 tires I hear good things as well as bad.. Will be on my DD 35+ miles a day highway/city driving.. So let me know if you have experienced them or another set of 38 wider then 13.50 along with your thoughts as well as some photos..

My Jeep was pretty much stock and made a run out to Yellowstone National Park. I had to air down to 26 psi midway to get the nice ride back. My advice is check the weights when first mounted and if over 4 ounces needed, SEND THEM BACK!!!!
PS: Mines using 10 ounces on one of mine now (front).

Should I go 38x14.50.17 or just make the jump to 40x1350x17 or go 37s again.. ? All on a 5.5 long arm rock Krawler lift but I can also make the jump down to 3.5 by just changing the coils help me decide

Could be a handful on a DD. It's going to depend upon the quality of the set and the accuracy of the initial balancing. I run MTR/K 37s on TR HDs. Purchased from DTC last June, they mounted and balanced them on a set of MT Classic IIs and simply couldn't get them acceptable. Had them Hunter Road Force balanced a week or so later and it was night & day better. You can never tell with MTR/Ks on a DD. Dealer tells me the quality on them is very spotty, he assumes from the irregular production runs. I love them but will probably go with Nittos next time simply because of the aggravation factor.

I just went to the GY 40x13.50 tire a month ago. All I will tell you is that I am still spending money trying to get them to fit. I do love the 40" tire but I didnt realize how truly expensive it would be to do it.
So my suggestion would be to avoid the 40" tire unless you feel like spending a boat load of money.
