IMO not worth it . I have been beating up jeeps for 7 years now , and only seen one valve steam get tug so hard it sprung a leak.( not fully convinced it was the brush thinking more dry rot and bad timing) the biggest thing with me would be what if I needed to air up and lost the attachment ? Dropped it in snow / mud and can't find it. If your worried about it that much I know when I worked at belletire they had short stainless steel steams we would install them for a "tip" but never advertised we had them. Mostly went on vets because they could not stand seeing any black on there shinny wheels.

Best advice for everyone is if you ever need anything done at a tire store go around back and talk to a tire tech first , amazing how far a 5 buck tip can go.

Mad,

Its a little more common out here but not so much so it is considered a every run event. One of the reasons I went to my current rims was that they move the valve stem to the center of the rim vice being out on the edge were the rock can bite it off.

My concern with these are where the valve stem sits on most rims, on the edge near a lip/ledge. Are these things small enough to clear that edge? Don't know.

The rubber in them dry rots and cracks fast. Mine started to leak within a year. I went back to regular valve stems. Not too hard to fix on the trail if you carry spares.

I would just run to to closest tire store and see what they have I know we had some as small and a half inch still not super easy to fill but better then carrying a adapter. Can you post some pictures of your wheels ?

Another option would be to get bent or curved valve stems.

Thanks for the thoughts. I have never had an issue with current valve stems but will be purchasing new tires soon and was doing some research on these.
