Gorilla Guard Wheel Locks
#22
wheel locks...
ahh wheel locks... keeping honest people honest since... they were invented...
However.
I lost all faith in them when I lost the key to mine... do you know why?
It took my buddy at the auto shop under 3 seconds per wheel to take them off...
Sears (or any tool shop) sells kits to do it! its a reverse bolt bit that bites at the nut while spinning LEFT to loosen it..
Grab that tool, a small hammer, and a cordless impact wrench, and you can steal all the wheels you want
But, I still lock mine..... but hey if they have the tools and a jack big enough to steal my 35s, they must really need them...
I also keep a $100 comprehensive deductable on my jeep
However.

If someone what to just be malicious a wheel lock is not going to prevent them from slicing your tires.

Old fashioned McGuard and early Gorilla type locking nut...any shop could take these off as described...
(The new Gorilla's are different, in that if you grab the inside, or outside it just spins,...the key locks the inner and outer barrels, allowing the nut to be screwed off.)
______________________
Obviously...anyone who want the jeep can pull it onto a flat bed, slice the canvas/plastic windows, yadda yadda yadda....and get anything they want...if they have the energy, etc. The more work it is o steal, the fewer people will steal them, etc....keep more of them honest so to speak.
