Default Got a new noise!

So I'm cruising along, but when I have the gas pedal pushed down maybe a quarter of the way, I hear metal on metal screeching. But if I push it slightly down further, the squealing stops. I'm thinking it has something to do with the clutch? Perhaps some type of debris or dirt can get in between the clutch or pressure plate?

ck your belt for unusual wear could be a pully bearing going bad or possibly water pump

interesting...i have a very, very similar issue. I think of it as a very high pitch whistle/squeal when im on light throttle. If i let off or accelerate harder it stops. I dont know what brake pads would have to do with that but ill check tomorrow and chime in . I thought it was something with my intake or belt or something...
