Default Grenade shift knob

I'm thinking about switching out the shifter knob for a grenade shifter. I think it looks cool, but primarily I think the weight of the grenade may buffer the vibration/rattle in the gear shifter it seems most manual jks are prone to have. Would there be any negative effects on the transmission if I switched out the knob? Anyone know of any other weighted gear shift knobs for the jk?

Not to rain on your parade, but I had a grenade shifter, had some decent weight to it. Kept popping out of gear, so I ended up going back to the oem knob. There may be a lighter solution out there - best of luck!

I ran one for 2+ years on my '07 with no issues and will be switching it over to my '15 as soon as I get around to it.

Do you have a link or more info? I really haven't looked much after my first experience. Is it fairly light?

Nothing fancy, the lemon grenade fits great in the palm of your hand and there are 3 set screws to keep things tight.

I made one for my old YJ, it was very uncomfortable. Went back to stock.

Just some weights I pulled off of Wikipedia:

M67 (baseball) -.875 lb
M26 (lemon) -1lb
MK2 (pineapple) 1lb 5oz

I like the baseball but wish it mounted on its side. I may go with the lemon.

I've had this pineapple on mine for 3+ years. it's a dummy I drilled out and tapped a set screw into, it's rather heavy and haven't experienced any issues yet, I did remove the spoon and primer apparatus because it was rather uncomfortable
