wow!! Ive seen the mod on here. I couldnt believe it when i saw it for sale. I think it looks good, but it "bottles my mind" (will farrell) that they're selling it for almost 300 bucks!! whats the world coming to?? thank god for this site!
For the sake of argument, that grill insert is slightly different from the mod on here as it "fits" into each grill slot, however, I would and am going to do the mod before I'd ever pay $300 for that.
For less than $20 for parts and a day of your time you can do your own. IF you do the plasti spray on the gutter guard it'll take you a couple of hours (mostly wait time between coats) to paint the cut gutter guard. (~$5 for plasti spray at Lowes). The gutter guard is another ~$5, add a pack of 4" cable ties (qty 50) and the self adhesive wire tie mounts (qty 24 in my case) and there you go.
Of course, if you don't have a pair on snips add that cost, and the cost of the band-aids to cover the punctures in your hands from the cut metal
Also some denatured alchohol and rags/paper towels to clean the mount surface (rear of the grill).
Safety tip: WEAR GLOVES! Or just make the blood sacrifice to the jeep gods.
Added Pictures:

Added tip: The screen holes are "oriented" in a certain direction. If you look at mine closely ou might notice that some of the holes slant one way, and some slant the other. That's because I didn't pay close enough attention while I was tieing the screens in place. Take my advice: Pay attention!
