Default Grill Mod Question

Greetings one and all.

Want to add screen to back side of grill. To remove grill I see 6 screws on top side of grill. Does the grill just snap in on the bottom ? Do u have to unplug headlights? Sorry for the dumb Questions this is all new to me.

Thanks in advance

Default Grill removal

Not a dumb question. After removing the six top screws pull the top of the grill toward you (assuming you are standing in front of the bumper) until the metal snaps pop out at the bottom. The parking lamps must be remove from the back side of the grill (just rotate them and pull them out). You do not need to mess with the HLs.

not a dumb question at all.... yeah after you remove the 6 screw type things the grill just pulls off... you dont have to unhook the headlights... you do have to just unplug the turn signals , but no big deal.. good luck

yes the bottom just pops out. and the parking lights have a plug to unconnect them. the plastic screws on top may be hard to get out depending on the year of your jeep. if you have trouble use a wood screw and a drill and run it into the plastic and then pull up. you will still be able to use them again. on my 10 they were easily removed with a screw driver. i know 07 (08 and maybe 09) will be a little harder and i had to use a screw for a friend of mines jeep.

there is a write up on how to do this in the write up section as well.

One additional kernel of knowledge: Those plastic non-screw screws on the top are common hardware at auto parts stores--just in case.
