i wanna put 35's on a 4-door with just Rubicon suspension at the moment. Will I need spacers so I don't rub on full turn left/right?

I don't do any rock crawling so for now I'm not too worried about rubbing at full flex. I do mainly desert and mountain trails for camping and dickin' around. I'm more of a poser and just wanna look cool.

I have an auto and 3:73's. I am about ready to take the leap. I don't do much hardcore wheelin' so I am hoping that it will be bearable for me. I do have about a 25 min drive to work and that is the only thing that worries me. I just don't see going to 33's when I have the 32 rubi tires now. Heck I can get 35's for cheaper than 33's. I am going to take you guys word for it and give it a shot for a while. Heck it might be acceptable for me. If not then I'll worry about the regear.

Default Gears and tires.

I am running 35x12.50x17 with a 4 dr rubicon automatic with 4:10's No Problem.
Most newer auto trannies come with 4:10 standard...I thought.

5:13's are a little overkill unless you are trying to compete in the Top Truck Challenge.

yes it does suck with 35's and 3.73's with and auto. i have the same setup but with a 5" lift. if you are planning on re-gearing like everyone always does. you will not be sorry with the 35's. i've already put it in my head that i'm doing 38's next time. and yes i'm planning on doing 5.13's as well.

i have yet to have my tranny over heat. i' have an appointment with the stealer ship to do what ever they are going to do about this recall on the automatic's. but i have had no issues with the 35's.

Any spacers on it? I mean with 35's can you turn full left/right and not rub? I don't have a lift yet, just stock Rubi suspension.

I've also got 35's, auto, 3.73's. It's definitely not ideal, but it's livable. I'd rather spend the money (when available) on some of the other mods I'd like to do. I average about 13.5 - 14.5mpg with a mixture of highway and city driving, but keep in mind that my highway driving is somewhat mountain driving so that doesn't help.

I generally drive in second in the city up to around 40-50 mph and then kick it into drive (OD off) once above those speeds on the highway. It's pretty rare that I will have the OD on, which sucks but I just don't have the funds for the gears yet nor anytime soon.

By the way, I've been driving with this set up for about 2 years now and I've learned to live with it just fine. However, I've driven my dad's Rubicon with the 4.10's and same lift/tire/wheel set up and I can certainly tell the difference between the 3.73's and 4.10's.

Go for it with the 35's and worry about re-gearing sometime in the future

I just ordered 5.13s for my 35s today... Did the 3.73s for about a year. They are completely livable, but you'll eventually WANT to regear. Whether or not it's in the budget is a different story... but trust me, you WILL want to.

How much is it for gears and and installation? I do all of my own work but gears are something I've never done and woudl hate to screw up.
