Default Happy stock or slightly modify

Just bought a 2016 Unlimited. This is my fourth Jeep. Its has the stock steel wheels which have to go. Kind of torn if I want to go lift and bigger tires like my other Jeeps. Was thinking about getting some Rubicon take offs and installing Tera Flex leveling kit. My only worry is with the backspacing of the Rubicon wheels will it make the Jeep too tall and wobbly. Ran wheel spacers with one of my Jeeps. Had no problems just didn't like having an extra link to break. I've searched tons of posts and only found a few pics of the set up I'm thinking about. Any thoughts?

I have a 15 JKU Willy's which have the Rubicons rims and tires and I haven't noticed any problems.

You are talking about stock rims/tires, and a small lift. It's only 2" front, 1" rear, right?

Thousands of people have been happily running that setup, all the way back to 07 when the JK was released. That massive lift with stock backspacing is not something to lose sleep over. (but if you have the money, I personally would not buy a second set of stock rims. Find a set with lower backspace on the chance that you will move to bigger tires in the future)

The stock Rubicon tires and wheels will fit without spacers

Stock rubicon wheel back spacing is the same as the other wheels jeep offers.

Default i left mine stock height

no lift for me , i like the lower yet aggressive look with 33s muds a little sticking beyond fenders . i see people with 35s and lifted to me its not the look i want on my ride. i can swap back and forth with my rubicon tires and wheels if i desire but i dont. i generally run my nittos . preference i guess , but i have my stock driving habits along with the look i wanted on my jeep too . No worries about voiding warranty over it being lifted. just my 2 cents . (If i were really doing tons of rough terrain i guess the extra height from 35s would help but the lift dosent change your axle height so for me its keep it simple

Lift does not increase under axle but it does increase approach, departure and breakover angles. Even those are REALLY REALLY good in the JKs. I did add some lift on my rig...2" which is fine for where I live. My 3 2005 up F150s I owned all had very very crappy clearance in all areas. So in went 3" of lift in front and 2" in the rear, plus 33's. that helped. I could access my hunting areas, camping spots etc all with ease then. before I would be hung up on the cross member of the front suspension. When I got my patriot in 2010, I was amazed at the actual under body clearance a stock rig had. I did lift and install bigger tires on that, and had more clearance than my F150s. The the JK came into play. I started going more places without hanging up etc. It was awesome.

Not everyone needs 37's and 4"-6" of lift. Some do if rocks are the norm. But on the east coast, its few and far between. Its mostly woodland areas here.

Exactly. I have been off roading and travelling around here for 20 years now. I have needed a winch 2 times. One time we were moose hunting and buried my 91 F150 to its belly in mud.....the second time was to pull a tree out of the way, but in all honesty the jeep itself could do that.

Nice blackie!
