Do you still have your hardtop? I think living in Chicago you'd be better off keeping your hardtop. Running no top in the summer or getting a Bestop top. You can get a Bestop top for about $550-600 shipped from Amazon. Your hard top is worth a lot more than that. Don't be afraid to try the two top thing.

wow that's a hell of a trade - you can sell your hardtop and buy a brand new soft-top with money left to spare. That's the route I would go. I have both a hard and soft. I use the Hardtop in the winter and pretend to use the softop in the summer but rarely put it up.
