Default Hard tops

Quick question. Would a 3 piece freedom top from a 4door 2007 JKU sahara fit a 4 door 2010 JKU sport?

Default Mopar says NO!

I don't think so.

I looked up the 3 piece Freedom Tops for the JKU on Mopar and they have different part numbers for 07-08 (Part# 82209924), 09-10 (Part# 82211989AC ) and 11-12 (Part# 82212527) so I have to say they are not the same but supposedly the 11-12 is backward compatible with all other years.

Very confusing.

I think that the newer tops were changed to allow a slightly larger window. I would assume the "shell" would match up. Double check.

I run an 11 top on my 09 JKU. I removed one guide tab with an allen wrench that was not needed. So one extra guide hole in an 11 top and no hole in the 07-10 top lip. You don't need it anyway. Still 6 bolts on the rail to the tub, just the same.

If you wonder what I mean....the guide tab is just this thing that is plastic and looks about the size of the end of your pinky. When you sit the top on the bed, it helps you line it up by dropping down into a smaller hole...not the hole for the screws to secure the top.

This all makes sense. I did read a post on the forum with someone having the same question. This person had photos of the 07 top latches not matching up with the 2010 latch loops. Does anyone know for sure if this is true? Thoughts?
