Default Hardtop Scratch Stopper?

Hey yall,
Not sure exactly how to put this so I added these pictures but throughout taking my hardtop on and off the crappy Chinese made, 3000$, leaky, heavy, loud, sorry ill stop there but the bottom of it has just gotten shredded and doesn't look to great... has anybody either painted it or where i was thinking of going was lining it with something like yall do when you chop your fenders... that rubber strip type thing??? any advice cuz it just plain looks like S*&t!
the white stuff is like a cotton type material that im scrared will get wet or something!

you could try marine putty from Lowe's, I used it to fix a gash in mine.

Looks like fiberglass. You could coat it with some quick-set epoxy, or proper marine bondo. Touching it up with some paint might help seal it up if it's just a small area (the little brush-on touch up paints, not spray)
