Question Hardware needed to mount Rubi Rails?

What hardware is needed to mount the stock Rubicon Rails? This is for a 2012. I believe the rails came off a 2010 or 2011.

I bought a set of rails used, no hardware included.

I found a PDF from Jeep with diagrams, but it doesn't say exactly what each part/size are. I have 2 of the nuts that have washers connected, need 10 total I believe. I took one of the washers to a Lowe's and asked an employee. He said they are metric and they don't carry much metric stuff.

If someone has a complete hardware list including all sizes, that would be VERY helpful.

The PDF I found is at: http://www.acmejeepparts.com/products/12112_221_07.htm

It shows:
6 X bolt
4 X Clips - I think they're Tennerman clips, but don't know what size to get.
12 X Nut w/ Washers

It mentions I will need 10mm and 13mm sockets, but doesn't give any of the sizes.

I was in a similar situation. I just put the rail itself in a shopping cart and brought it into Home Depot. I have a 2 door and bought:

8 - 6mm tension lock nuts and washers
4 - I want to say 12mm 1 1/4 inch long bolts with a lock-washer and nut.
Locktite

Didn't use the clips because I couldn't find them. I was worried the bolt would spin sing you can't get a wrench under the body but it didn't. They tightened up no problem. Hope this helps.

If you have an Ace Hardware nearby you can buy the bolts and the u clips there. I picked up a set too and got everything I needed at Ace.

Here are the sizes right out of the MOPAR Parts catalog, you will need four pairs of bolts and u nuts and four smaller nuts:

BOLT AND WASHER, Hex Head,M8X1.25X25.00
U-NUT, M8x1.25
NUT AND WASHER, Hex, M6X1.00

Two 8MM bolts hold the rails using the two 8mm u nuts. Get two 6mm nuts either with a washer or flanged. They hold the rails to the sills so you can securely mount the rails using the larger bolts.

So altogether you need four 8mm bolts, four 8mm u nuts and four 6mm nuts with a washer or a flange for a 2 door.

For a 4 door you need more.

Mcmaster.com had the clips and all the hardware. I ordered from there and it cost like 12 bucks for it all

I bought a set of used rubi rails but didn't use the clips and hardware they came with. Bolted up and used existing hardware from the Sahara steps

Ok, looks like Mcmaster may be the way to go so I don't have to make 20 trips to the hardware store...

Not sure about a few of them, please let me know which:

Nylon-Insert Hex Flange Locknuts X 12:

http://www.mcmaster.com/#hex-flange-nuts/=fft1ef

Metric Sizes
Zinc-Plated Class 8 Steel
M8 1.25 13 11.1 17.9 2.38 100 92461A400 $8.45

Obviously I don't need qty 100, but looks like that's all they have?

U Nuts X 4:

There's 3 different ones listed, not sure which??

Metric Tapped Hole— For Machine Screws
M8 1.25 0.8-4 14.5 25 95210A190 $7.62
M8 1.25 0.8-4.5 20 25 95210A200 9.67
M8 1.25 4-7 21 10 95210A210 5.95

Hex Bolts X 6:

I brought mine to the hardware store with me and test fit a bunch to find the best fit.... It was a lot of in and out but I told the clerk what I was doing. He was a jeep guy too and actually came out crawled under the jeep and helped me fit the right bolts and washers and nuts. Good luck.

Yeah, I've looked around on many different web sites. I've been able to find everything, but either too many quantity, too expensive, or they don't have everything.

I'll just print out what I need and checkout Autozone, Ace, and Home Depot. Already struck out at Lowes.

Its cheaper if you buy a 100 from mcmaster than you buying 8 from a hardware store believe it or not!
