Default Has anyone snapped their Cs?

I understand the importance of adding C gussets to a Dana 30, especially when you're running 35s or larger. I know they're a weak point on the axle, heck mine were flexing when I was pressing out my BJs. But my question is has anyone out there actually snapped one? And I don't mean while doing extreme rock crawling, but more hit a bump with 37s and snapped one? Stories an pictures welcome.

I've never seen a snapped one myself, I think the concern is more so with the stress larger tires bending the c's causing unhealthy camber, tire wear, etc.

I was thinking the same thing. I've only ever heard of people bending them.

Bending them is the issue. Snapping them would be pretty extreme.

I did once on a D-60 running 43" tires. I think the casting fatigued or had a hairline crack. The D-60 was only a few months old.

The way I look at it, it's cheap insurance against it happening. I did my upper C's for less than $50
