Default Hate my shocks

So, Stupid me, didn't do any real research before lifting my jeep. Went with the Fabtech 3" Budget System w/ Performance Shocks. It rides a little to solid. I based my decision on the look I was after and on a limited budget. This is 1st my daily driver, then occasional forest road, off road adventurer.
I'd like a soft ride. any suggestions with budget in mind?
Thanks!

I use a rough country 2.5 coil/shock lift. Rides like stock mostly.

It may be your springs just as much as your shocks. Both play a huge role in ride feel/firmness.

Let some air out of the tires? Loosen all control arm and trackbar bolts, shake, and re-torque? Swap your old shocks back on to verify that it is the shocks that are harsh?

If you don't want to do any investigating and just want new shocks, the Rancho 9000's are getting good reviews.

Let me tell you a little story. I had a built 99 Grand Cherokee, I think I went through 4 different brands of shocks before one of my TJ buddies told me about these shocks. Let me tell you all the issues I had were gone, and I had already went down the path of springs, etc. Once I put these shocks on that Jeep I was like WOW. Once I get a bunch of other things done on the JK, Black Diamonds will be going on, no doubt.

Not to sound like a dick, but if you can't handle the stock ride... It's not going to get any better.

Cheapest solution. Buy a set of Ranch RS9000XL shocks for $320 from 4wd.com as they have a $100 rebate, bringing total cost down to $220.

My club actually has a guy that had a Fabtech 5" lift with the basic shocks and he swapped out his shocks for the Rancho's two weeks ago for the same reason. Said it was night and day.

I have Rancho rs9000s and think they are great! You can adjust with a turn of a knob from soft to firm
