I have heard that long tube headers the way to go on jk. I am also wondering what kind of gains these headers are giving...

I would also like to know about headers. I remember reading someone was having problems cracking aftermarket headers awhile back. Some more info would be great.

I've been running RIPP's LTH for about 5 months now with no issues whatsoever. Paired with the Diablo tune it's a great addition to your JK if you need a bit more oomph. You really have to consider whether you wanna drop two grand on it, however. Your mileage may vary. I love them and swear by them, but if you're expecting racing performance, you're going to need to look elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, the additional zip is immediately noticeable, but the biggest improvement is torque down low and far, FAR less gear hunting. Be prepared to contend with epic raspiness at 3k RPM however - anywhere else in the powerband sounds great coming out of my Flowmaster 50, but at exactly 3k...ugh.

Now if I could just swindle five grand more and slap a supercharger in front of it all...

I'm looking for some low end grunt also. I was debating on the MBRP cat back or start with headers and CAI.

If you have the funds...RIPP long-tubes are definitely the way to go. My stock manifold cracked, and I didn't have the cash to drop on the RIPP setup, so I went with a set of the JBA titanium-ceramic shorty headers. They work like a champ. No earth-shattering gains, mind you - but they're still better than stock, and other than periodic checking of the torque on the flange bolts, I haven't had any problems with them at all.

Q-tec also threw me a pretty smoking deal on them too.

Yeah.. I have to agree with RIPP headers being the way to go. If you search for threads on headers, I think you'll find that short headers will give you little if any HP boost. In some cases I've heard that HP drops. Right now I'm running stock exhaust and headers with diablosport predator tuner. MBRP exhaust is on order and RIPP headers are next. YouTube has a good video of a RIPP headers with MBRP exhaust.. mind you it is also supercharged, but that exhaust note is nasty. I will post a link to the video when I get home. On my phone is too hard lol.

I am going to go with RIPP headers once I have the money saved up for them!

I got a hell of a deal on some JBA ceramic shorty headers 2 weeks ago... hoping to install them this weekend. Hope to feel some low end improvement. I already have a CAI and superchip, so this should tie in nicely.
