Default Headers?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering...instead of getting my exhaust manifold replaced again and again at the dealership...what would a good aftermarket header be? I'm running superchips hi octane tune. And I'll have a corsa dual exhaust installed soon. I have 5.13 gears if any of that makes a difference. So what would a good header be? I might supercharge this someday. But i dont know if ripp long tubes are really worth it. I don't want Gibson headers as they melt plug wires. What would you suggest?

Thanks

Sean

The only header setup that will get you "gains" will be the RIPP long tubes. I have the JBA titanium ceramic shorty headers, and they've been great as a manifold replacement, but they aren't leaps and bounds over the stock setup.

Hope that helps.

I have the Banks headers, and they also melt plug wires and I dont notice any preformance gains. They also generate way to much heat under that hood.

Thanks! I love how I was gonna order a set of Rustys...then didn't. Then my manifolds craps the bed. O well. Live n learn. I think I want ripps. But I have heard they don't give much gain

I got the RIPP headers and am telling you there are big gains with it. I got the headers without the tune first, and I felt good power gains, then with the tune, huge gains. Here's mine:

Here's after the Tune

Here's after the Header Install but before the Tune - Note, the text below the video (they said '08, that was a typo)

I think you need their tune, but I would ask them to make sure. If you have to use theirs, you can sell the superchips on this forum pretty easily I'm thinking.

Haha ya. I need it to calibrate my speedo tho. I think I'll wait and do my aev lift and ripp headers at the same time. That way I can de program my jeep have aev do my lift and procal it. Then have them install my headers for me. Then do the ripp tune
