Default heard a noise

i was out wheeling in some snow on tues. and had 2 turn around. I was backing up in 4 low with rear locker on and heard a noise in the front end, it was just a PING but when i got back on the road my steering wheel was off to the right. the jeep still drives straight though. Any suggestions???

Try re-centering your steering wheel, also check and make sure your stabilizer hasn't moved.

i will check the stabilizer. how do yo re-center the wheel?

Don't just recenter the wheel. Find the cause first. In fact, find the cause before you drive it again.

This is WOL's write up on steering centering, but as rojenx said, something had to cause this. Bent tierod or something loose in the frt, like he said check it first, check out trk bar and arms also.

I found the stabilizer was moved, I set it back 2 where it was and my steering wheel is straight again.
