Heat reduction experiment on hardtop
Well I decided to try something different before I get some boom mat insulation panels. What I did was remove on of my freedom top panels, mainly the driver side one. I decided to start with one first before I do the whole top, I just finished coating the panel with white plasti dip. I've seen on here a couple folks paint the inner section on top with epoxy paint for rv roofs, so I want to do the same idea but with white plasti dip. Tomorrow when the sun is out ill compare the passenger freedom top panel with a laser thermometer.
I taped off a couple of inchesn front edge and side edge to give the top a non fj look, this worked out wheel, at the height of the jeep, you cannot see white plasti dip from the sides or front, only can see one of the ribs poking up painted white.

Here it is after two cans of plasti dip, the high winds today didn't help with the layout, and the spray nozzle sucks, plan to use a dipyourcar spray nozzle next time

Sorry if this isn't new, but I hadn't seen a thread on this

I did this a few years ago with mine. Works!!
Then I made my own insulated panels. Used some R5 and carpet, stuck to roof with 3M tape. Together it's a noticeable difference. Cost about 60 bucks in materials.

Sounds good, I was thinking of doing that, I may have to do that instead
