I mounted a heat sink cooler from jegs a few weeks ago, after reading up on all the JK AT overheating issues. As a former open track and drag racer, I learned that blocking the radiator and AC condesor with a standard style tranny cooler does impact the water temp and your AC condensor temp., particulary at slow speeds. The issue with the JK stock cooler is mostly that it get almost no direct airflow due to its low placment on the grill. jeep really cheaped this one out on us.

I mounted my heat sink cooler to the metal brace/frame that sits below the radiator, after I removed the grill. The idea being that it adds a quart of extra capacity, does not need a lot of air flow to be effective, and looks kinda cool sitting in front of the radiator. It is alos not impaxcted by mud/sand debris.

If you go this wasy, be suere to sue the type that has the inlet/outlet on the smae side- reduce the installation PITA factor.

I'll post a photo if you are interested.

I'd appreciate it if you would post a picture. I'm interested in installing a heat sink cooler.
