Default Help with Full Traction lift

I hope someone will have the answer to this. I installed the FT 3 " Ultimate to the specs on Project-JK.Com. As you can see in the pics below the passanger spring is curved to the rear and the drivers is curved to the front. I rechecked my measurements and all was ok. The axle is positioned properly and not at an an angle to the frame. Caster is 6.1/2.

I called FT yesterday and was told to return everything to stock specs (length of control arms). OK I did it and the drivers side is now curved to the point that it touches the sway bar link. It did fix the passanger side. But now I have about 0 caster.

Hey The Jeep, I'm sorry to hear you are having some issues with your install and I'd like to point out that my write-up only gives starting point measurements and I do point out that others may need to do more adjusting to get things sitting right. As far as your pics go, the first one didn't come through but looking at the 2nd one, it's hard to say for sure but it looks like your lowers may be too long as well as maybe your uppers? Also, if you have your arms set to stock, you should have about +4° of caster and not 0°. Need I say, you might want to double check your measurements but this time, try doing it from the bushings eye to eye.

Way of Life that is a great write up you did and in no way was I trying to criticize it. What I don't understand is why the springs are curved one forward and one back. I can' twist the axle. I have tried a couple of different ways . I am beginning to think that the springs might be part of the problem because they are curving away opposite the spring stop. If they were both going the same direction then it would be a easy fix. I did drive the car yesterday and it drove straight and had no issues. I am going back to the garage and play with it some more.
Second try on the pic.

After taking it apart again. Rechecking everything I am at the factory lengths still. 4.0 caster (0 was a typo) and still the springs are curved as pictured. Jeep drives straight I am going to try an alignment to check my measurements. Most likely a waste of money but I don't know what else to do with it. I did have the HD springs on it and they were only slightly curved. As I don't have a winch and bumper yet it lifted the front to high. I bought the regular springs and it sits at the right height but I have this problem.

I had the same issue on my jeep during installatino of my Teraflex lift. You will notice that the spring will always bow the oppositte direction of where the coil terminates at the bottom. In your last picture, I can see the end of the coil at the bottom on the right, and the spring bows to the left. The best thing to do is rotate the spring so that it bows away from the sway bar. On one side this had my spring seated correctly in the bottom coil mount, and on the other side the spring is not seated perfectly, but at least the bow is away from the sway bar. I think the geometry of the spring perches is such that they are not perfectly perpendicular when the jeeps are lifted. The only way to bring the perches near stock geometry is to go with a long-arm kit.

If anyone is following this..........I did an alignment and that was a waste of money and time. I rotated the springs and one was OK afterwords (not curved). The other was even worse when I put weight on it it would bend until it hit the upper bump stop. I noticed that the coils on the spring at the top and the bottom were coiled tighter than the other. I called FT and they agreed that the spring is bad they are sending me a new one. I hope this is it. I am tired of taking the Jeep apart. But one good thing out of this is I know how to take apart and adjust the entire suspension

In the pics i notice there is a jack under the diff causing the coils to compress. If you put the jeep under its own weight on the tires how does the spring look?

On the tires it was the same. The pics were taken when I was using the measurements from Project JK. The bends were worse after I put it back to stock control arm lengths. The drivers side was hitting the sway bar link. I took the passanger side spring and put it on the drivers side and it looks ok. Slight bend but FT said that is normal. But the one from the drivers side that was hitting the swaybar link . When I moved it to the passanger side and I put weight on the spring it looked like it wanted to fold in half. That is the best way I can put it .
