Help
so i have an 07 wrangler and i want to get the Smittybilt XRC Front and Rear Armor any idea on how much that would cost to install or if you think it would be easy to install it yourself. Also my soft top is leaking from the driver, passenger, and behind the passenger. Should i get it fixed or get a new soft top?
Bumpers are an easy install that can be done with 2 people in a Driveway. The only time you need a 2nd person is really to help set the bumper in place while you put the nuts on. Depending on your skill it can be done in an hour if your good to 4 hours for someone who has never done that stuff before.
Undercarriage armor is going to be tricky without jack stands or a lift to install but it can Be done. Few hours with a buddy and you should be good. You could use riv nuts or tap the holes out and get some grade A bolts from fasenal or Home Depot. Good luck with that.

I have installed the xrc armor front and rear on two jeeps and I can tell you, it is not fun. Plan on a day for the front and a day for the rear, and then double that time. There will be holes that you can barely get to on the rears and at least 2 nutcerts will fail for you. I recommend getting a set of picks from harbor freight for scratching marks in the paint after you fit the rear armor. That was the only way I could even get close to the rear most holes on the rear armor. Also buy a good step drill, even the most accurate marks and measurements you can make will still be off a little and you will need to enlarge the holes on the backside of the armor. I used A tube of black RVT sealant and put a good sized glob on all of the nutcerts to help with rust prevention. If you are mechanically inclined, and very, very patient it can be done in your garage. If you have a friend with a lift In his garage, buy him a case of beer and secure some of his time.

It's going to be much easier and probably cheaper to buy a new top than top fix the one you have. We carry a full line of Soft Tops for your Jeep. Take a look around our tops section and let me know if you have any questions about any tops. I'll be more than happy to answer your questions. Also, I can hook you up with our JK Forum discount to get a great price on the armor and top.
