Default Help!

so i had my rims(kmc enduro 17x9) mounted on my tires and they told me they couldnt put the taper weights on the inside where they wouldnt show.. i dont know if its just them or if it cant be done in general. so he put the taper weights on the outside and it looks like SHI it takes up sooo much space on the black rim and the weights r silver..
so what can i do for balancing without having any weights on the outside of my rim??

there is a product: centramatic wheel balancer, set of 4 about $200, now i honestly know nothing about it, how it works etc... but i have come across them a couple times online. that might be a solution, but i dont know anyone who has used them.

did they give u a reason why they couldnt put them on the inside? i am using the little weights that have sticky stuff and just stick right to the insde of the rim. (not sure if thats what u are talking about) sorry for terminology, little knew to this myself. maybe some of this will help

ok, i see the pics now, thats what i have

Kinda defeats the purpose in getting black rims.

I have never balanced and mounted tires but I don't know why they couldn't put them inside. My weights are inside and I have 15inch wheels. They did have to get a little creative with them cause there was clearance issues with the rotors. I would take it back and ask for a proper explanation from the manager as to why it needs to be that way.

the manager happens to be a family friend and i talked to him and he said the spokes were too far back and that they couldnt be put JUST on the inside.. maybe he just isnt familar with offroad rims...

Firts of all, it CAN be done. Take your wheels to a shop that does a lot of oversized tires. It will take a little more weight to get a dynamic balance without putting weights on the outer lip but it most certainly CAN be done. It's also going to be a big pain in the ass to get that double sided tape off of your wheels. If that guy wasn't a friend of yours, I would recomend kicking him in the nuts! If you want the best balance you can get, find a shop that has a Hunter road force balancer. On a basic Hunter balancing machine I think the "alloy 3" setting will give you the weights for using stick on weights on the inner edge and behind the face of the wheel. I had my 37's done on the Hunter road force machine and it rode great. Good luck.

I wouldn't buy anything from that tire shop ever again.
I mounted tires for years and NEVER had a rim I couldn't use sticky-weights on.
I call BS on that one.
Go somewhere that KNOWS how to mount/balance tires properly.
