Default Help after lift

Put on a Rock Krawler 3.5 x factor. Have the Mopar rear bumper. 35" MTRs. Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks as recommended by RK. Also a 1" body lift. The rear sway bar is currently disconnected until I can relocate it as directed by RK. I have all 8 RK control arms and front and rear track bars installed also.

Here's my issue. Showing off (isn;t that when #*$^ typically happens) I pulled the left front tire onto a 2 foot tall rock. The right rear came into contact with the bumper and back part of the wheel well. Not realizing how bad it was in contact, i backed up to get off the rock and bent the bumper down about 6 inches. We were able to muscle the bumper back into place, but, why would this happen?

Is it b/c the sway bar was not connected? Not really sure.

Did the lift kit come with bump stops? It sounds like you stuffed the tire a little to much. I would also check that your rear control arms are not adjusted too long.

The lift came with shock bump stops. RK said it was something they were trying out and were giving them free. I didn't put them on though. I was told by RK that the bump stops were not needed.

Invest in some bump stops, or try the ones that they sent you, it should fix the problem.

Yeah, you NEED an extended bump stop with a lift if you run larger tires. Otherwise you will rub the larger tires. And with no sway bar in back, its going to do the majority of the flexing because there is less resistance.

You're not driving around with the rear sway-bar disconnected are you?
