Default Help with alignment (Caster/Camber questions)

So I bring the 2007 JK in to Express Tire for a check.

The "manager" says, "whoa, your Camber is way off" You need adjustable ball joints, it's $250 a side plus 100 labor. He didn't mention anyting about the Caster.

With a TF 2.5" coil spacer lift with X shocks(extensions)(put on 2yrs ago) and 33"s Toyo M/Ts is this just the lift getting old?

My C's seem ok, axle and current factory ball joints seem ok.
Questions:
1. Could my shocks/coils be crapped out?
2. Would getting new shocks and Rubi coils help?
3. Do I have to worry about it at all, if I rotate tires regularly? Is it reasonable specs?

Caster Left 2.6 deg
Caster Right 2.6 deg

Camber Left -0.6 deg
Camber Right -0.7 deg

Thanks for the help and sorry if this has been covered before!

the only way you can have camber on a soild axle is if you're axle c's are bent - this is a common problem on JK's and i would have a set of axle c gussets installed prior to installing off set ball joints. as far as your caster is concerned, 2.6° is a bit shallow. factory is 4.2° and i would recommend getting some adjustable lower control arms to add a bit more positive caster.

That sounds kind of questionable. Your caster looks a little lean but how do ball joints have anything to do with that?

They don't for castor but they do make off-set ball joints that are designed to correct camber issues. AS WOL states you would have to bend the axle Cs or even the tubes to be out of spec. There is a very good reason C's gussets are such a popular modification.

That makes more sense. Guess I didn't catch that, gussets on those c's are definitely vital when oversized tires start getting on our JKs. I need to learn how to read again

Since you have been driving for 2 years with low caster, I'm guessing that you won't need the adj ca's to fix it.

Your camber is just barely out of factory specs. With similar numbers, many people are choosing to leave it alone. Assuming your tires are wearing evenly?
I believe these are the factory specs? Pulled from another thread here.

CAMBER − 0.25° (fixed angle) ± 0.37°
MAX LT/RT DIFFERENCE ± 0.5°
So -.62° is factory max? And yours are -.6 and -.7

Is this the shop where you bought the tires? And are they telling you to get the offsets to keep the warranty? Gussets and Offsets are the fix, but do a quick search on Camber and read through some more threads for opinions before deciding which way to go with it.

Your left camber is within limits.
Your right camber is out by 0.08°.
Do you want to spend all that money for 8 hundredths of a degree. That little bit may be due to machine calibration, user technique, or the normal machine tolerances.

I would wait until you needed ball joints due to their being worn, then decide what you want to do.

Thanks guys...will contact ORE for the gussets. Just so I have all my options, any other brand make a better set of C gussets? Wondering who in San Diego has welded these on before?

lots of folks in the san diego area have the ORE gussets - ask sm_rubi or moochie. as far as better goes, they're just gussets and will all reinforce the same
