I'm I stalling a bl and have undone the ujoint bolt going to the steering shaft. It says to slide them apart but I don't have any play in them. Any tricks on getting the ujoint to slide off the steering shaft?

probably just stuck together with paint, i havent looked at mine but is there a nut on the other side of the bolt or does it thread into the clamp?..either way use some mechanical leverage to open it up ....gently..take the bolt..if threaded clamp and thread in from threaded side and place something solid in between ,,like a washer or a penny and continue threading the bolt, otherwise use a smalle chisel and tape it in, you get the idea....

There's a pinch bolt on the top ujoint, it says remove that and slide the ujoint down but it doesn't budge at all. At the other end other steering shaft is a bolt thread through that I could remove to take out the entire shaft but I was worried it would collapse and not be able to get it entended( I'm a noob so this might not be right at). There's also a rubber boot about half way down the shaft that attracted to the spines with metal wire things...could that be keeping the shaft from collapsing? It's a 2011 and no rust
