I ordered the Dick Cepek DC1 wheels and at the time I ordered them they had a 4.53" backspace. Which is perfect and one of the reasons I went with these wheels. Well they were on backorder for a few weeks but now that I got them, they decided to change the backspace to 5". So the ones I recieved have 5" and not 4.53". I read in this thread in the facts section that I should not go above 4.75". How much problems am I going to have with this difference, and what do i need to do to fix it.

 

You might wind up being ok. How wide are your tires?

Only thing I can think of that you may need to do is adjust your steering stops.

It's a quick, easy, do it yourself job.

 

You should be okay for the most part but you might see some rubbing at a full turn if you have 12.50 wide tires. This can be easily address by adding a washer or two to your steer stops. Either way, your rear tires should clear the sway bar links and that was the biggest problem that you might have seen anyway. Of course, if you are running 10.50 wide tires, you won't have any problems.

 

my tires are 305/70/17, i dont know how wide that calculates out to be, anyone know? I think it is 12" but not sure.
