Angry Help! Craigs List Mopar Running Boards. Missing Hardware?

I need help.

What am I missing? There seems to be a piece of very sticky tape covering the holes
where the running boards attach to the vehicle but I am missing any kind of bolt or nut.

Anyone?

There are bolts that go through that hole up into the body of the jeep. Along with that bolt is a nut attached to a body clip. I am sure someone here will show you in a picture. You could go to the Jeep dealer and look at their parts drawings and get the parts for pretty cheap.

there should be a flat retainer with a built in nut that slides up into that space, then the bolt threads into it from the bottom.

Where can I get these parts?

Can I just go to the hardware store?

I would say no to the hardware store. Might have to order them through the dealer.

Ahhh, must not have a real hardware store near you, unfortunately they are becoming hard to find thaks to the big boxes, and people no longer being able to do thier own projects. We are lucky to have an Elliott's in Dallas, and another old style hardware store in Hurst...the name escapes me.

I just picked out a nut and some bolts/washers from my gfs dads semi garage and made my rock rails work

it was kind of a pain to get them started but once that was over it was all gravy

I am certain its stronger than factory stuff is .....
