Default Help a dumb guy out.....

I own a 2012 JKU (spring rates of 17/58) and would like to put 35 12.50's on it to do some mild wheeling. Mostly forest roads and simpler trails. No rock crawling or severe off roading as this is my DD. Currently thinking about putting 15" AR23's on it (kinda goin old school). My question is this:

What's the big difference bw the Teraflex Leveling Kit and the 2.5" BB w shock extensions?

I ask bc here are my observations of the two kits:

The leveling kit lifts the front 2" and the rear 1". The 2.5" BB (from what I can surmize) lifts the front 2.5" and the rear 2". This 1/2" difference in the front and the 1" difference in the rear really requires the shock extensions? longer bumpstops? rear track bar bracket? AND the leveling kit is rated to clear 33's and maybe 34's and the 2.5" BB clearly clears 35's. Does that small of a difference b/w the two lifts really make that much of a difference? We're only talking a dimension that's approx the width of one's thumb.

BTW, I have a brand new set of rubicon springs and shocks (18/59's) I bought off CL that i may put on right away or wait until my stock springs and shocks start to wear. Not sure if this impacts much of the decision or not but thought I'd throw it out there.

Thanks for helping a dumb guy out

If you want a better performing lift you should put the rubi springs on now. The tf leveling kit only lifts your jeep enough to where you can get away with stock shocks and new sway links. The budget boost will give you more lift and you will see a better ride and more height gains with either lift if you add them to rubi springs. Budget boost is a good way to go if you plan on wheeling. You could easily run 35s and cut your fenders without any lift at all so you will be fine if you go with flat fenders and either of the two lifts. Just a heads up if you intend to leave your original springs on and add bumpers you will see a sag in the springs and you will get that factory looking rake again which the kits are supposed to correct.
