Default Help with final tire choice

I've "narrowed" it down to these 6, in either a 33x12.5 or a 285/70, looking for anyones opinions on which i should go for. I'm looking for an aggressive all terrain that will be good offroad yet also be decent on highway and most importantly good on rain and snow/ice covered highways.

Cooper Discoverer ST
Mickey thompson Baja Radial ATZ
Mickey Thompson Baja Radial MTX
Dick Cepek FC II
Pro Comp Xtreme AT
Pro Comp All Terrain

Any opinions would be great.
Thanks

Thumbs up

With all of the research I have done on tires, I have found that the Pro Comp Xtreme AT are one of the best out right now. It also comes with a 40,000 mile warranty; Not too shabby for a tire that aggressive. If this is your daily driver, I would suggest these. I just got mine and am waiting for the lift so I can not comment on how they ride on my JK. I know others on this forum have them so maybe they can chime-in.

I have never run them, but always heard good things about the Fun Countrys. They have been around for ever and they supposed to be good in the snow and rain. We have a tire store out here in the Northwest called Les Schwab, I run thier tires. I've been running thier tire starting in 1974. They are great all around tires. Never had a flat. I don't know if they sell online.

Cooper stt's are great. Had the BFG AT for two days and it rode like a tank and didn't behave well on the HYW. The coops ride as well or better then the stock DD AT's.

I have the Mickey Thompson Baja Radial MTX (33 x 12.5 x17) and work just great for me. They are not noisy on the highway and excellent on trails.

i might be biased, but I would go with the Dick Cepek's. They have very good off road traction, handle really well in the rain from my personal experience, and are suposedly very good in snow and ice... They don't have a 40k warranty, but the guys at Dick Cepek told me if they are properly rotated you should get 35-40k out of them...

Take a look at Nitto Mud Grapplers.. and also their parent co.. Toyo.. They make a very good tire for the price..

Tires are like battery's.. They all are made by only a FEW company's..

The names are changed, Oh and maybe the tread pattern, rubber compound...
Somebody tell me I am wrong...

Look like we have a wide range of opinions for your tire choice. Let's reverse the question and ask: Which tires on that list should nachoninja not get? Anyone have bad experiences with any of those on the list? The only tires not mentioned were the Pro Comp All Terrains and the MT ATZs.

Hey Nacho - is this a daily driver? and if so, how many miles would you drive it a year? Also, how often will you take it off-road? And lastly, where do you live?

These questions would help narrow down your choices.
